Pure Peek

Privacy policy

Effective 30 October 2026

Pure Peek: File Viewer & PDF is an Android app made by Marko Zanoski. This policy explains what the app does with your data. The short version: the app sends nothing anywhere. There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and no server of ours, and the app has no internet permission, so Android itself stops it from going online.

What stays on your phone

  • The files you open. Pure Peek reads a file only when you open it with the app, share it to the app, or pick it in Android's file, folder or photo picker. Android gives the app access to that file, or to the one folder you choose. The app never changes or resaves your files.
  • Short lived copies. A file you open from inside a zip, a file you share onward and a photo you share without location are written to the app's private cache. The app deletes them after a day, and Android may clear them sooner.
  • Recent files. The names of files you opened and Android's address for them, and the page you were on in a PDF, so you can pick up where you left off. Turn off Remember recent files in Settings to forget them and stop keeping them.
  • Your settings. Look, text size, line numbers and the other choices in Settings.

None of this leaves your phone. Pure Peek is left out of Android's cloud backup on purpose, because the files you open can hold private data.

What leaves your phone

Nothing is sent by the app. It works fully offline. Web pages and SVG drawings it shows load nothing from the internet and run no scripts. A file leaves the app only when you choose Share, Open with another app or Print, and then it goes where you send it.

Photo locations

Photos can hold the place they were taken. The details sheet shows it when Android lets the app see it, and tells you when Android hides it. Share without location sends a copy with the GPS and camera details taken out.

Permissions

Pure Peek asks for no permissions at all: no internet, no storage, no location, camera, microphone, contacts or notifications.

What we do not do

  • No accounts and no sign in.
  • No ads and no advertising identifiers.
  • No analytics, crash reporting or tracking libraries.
  • No selling or sharing of data, because we do not collect any.

Payments

Pure Peek is bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment under its own privacy policy. We receive no card details and no personal data from that purchase beyond what Google Play shows every developer in aggregate sales reports.

This website

This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no outside fonts or scripts. It is hosted on Vercel, which keeps short server logs to run and protect the service. The user guide and bug report forms are on GitHub, under GitHub's privacy policy; reports you file there are public.

Children

Pure Peek is a general audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal data from anyone.

Deleting your data

Everything Pure Peek keeps is on your phone. Turn off Remember recent files, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Your own files stay where they are. There is nothing on our side to delete.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
